Meet the Team
Lance Kohler » Owner and Managing Broker
Lance is the Owner and Managing Broker of the Cornerstone Real Estate Team. He retired from the U. S. Army in 2012, after a 20-year career as an Infantry Officer. Lance started in Property Management in 2008, managing his own investment property. Lance purchased the Cornerstone Real Estate Team property management business from its founder in 2015. Lance is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Val Lopez » MBA, CSM
Val joined the Cornerstone Real Estate Team as the Office Manager in November 2023. He is a solutions-focused, versatile management professional offering a comprehensive background in organizational and strategic leadership from 26 years of service as a military officer in the United States Army. Val has been married to Melanie Lopez for 22 years and has 4 children ranging from 22 years to 8 years.
Timothy Schuchard » Assistant Property Manager
Tim has been a member of the Cornerstone Real Estate Team as an Assistant Property Manager since April 2016. He retired from the U.S. Army in February of 2016 after a 23-year career as an Enlisted Armor Crewman. With the management skills he learned while serving in the military, he has learned to strike a balance between being responsive and amicable, while also professional and firm.
Janet Rogers » Administrative Assistant and Bookkeeping
Janet has been with the Cornerstone Real Estate Team as an Administrative Assistant and Bookkeeper since August 2016. Janet has a diverse background as a paralegal, administrative assistant, and retail manager with an emphasis on customer service. She enjoys helping others and offering assistance as needed. She has lived in Colorado Springs since 2001.
Abigail Rael » Senior Property Manager, Associate Broker
Abigail joined the Cornerstone team in 2019 coming from a strong background in building and facilities operations management and member issue escalations in the fitness industry. Considered a "Jill-of-all-trades" by her family and friends, there is rarely a problem she can't solve.
Harv Singh » Sales Division Team Lead (the Rocky Peak Homes Team)

Harv exemplifies integrity, drive, dedication and personal service in every aspect of your real estate transaction. Harv grew up in Colorado and attended University of Colorado at Boulder; from there he served in the U.S. Army for over 26 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Despite his travels, he and his family have always considered Colorado their home. Harv enjoys the flexibility of the Real Estate industry, but most importantly helping buyers and sellers navigate through the process of purchasing a home in Colorado Springs.
As a local homeowner for over 10 years he brings extensive knowledge of the area (schools, recreation, drive times and shopping). Harv is well versed in the VA and traditional loan processes as well as having excellent negotiation skills, making him a great asset to all his clients. Harv uses his know-how and foresight to proactively address details before they become a problem. He utilizes his expertise with strategic planning, listening skills and attention to detail in order to create the best strategy to help his clients find or sell their home. Harv is a member of the Pikes Peak Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. Ashley Torres » Property Manager Extraordinaire, Associate Broker
Ashley has been a member of The Cornerstone Real Estate Team since 2021. With over 13 years experience in Property Management, she is well-versed in both single and multi-family units. Ashley has a passion for helping others and has proven her ability to problem solve in all situations, from managing a variety of multi-style units to maintaining maintenance coordination, vendor relations, and client services. She has been a resident of Colorado Springs for the last 15 years and enjoys spending time with her daughter, exploring the mountains, road trips, traveling, and attending music concerts.
Matt Yost » Client Success Manager, IT
Matt started working for Cornerstone 2020 as an Administrative Assistant but has since become the Client Success Manager. He has a background in customer service, phone operation and basic IT. Matt works to ensure that new clients are onboarded smoothly and have all their questions about property management and the company answered. Matt enjoys spending his free time outdoors, hiking, playing Disc Golf or training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Kaitlyn Nealis » Assistant to the Property Managers
Kait joined the Cornerstone Real Estate team in August of 2022. She seeks out opportunities that benefit others and enjoys the challenge of improving processes or finding the missing puzzle piece of a project. Kait does not limit herself as the Assistant to the Property Managers but seeks opportunities to expand the way she serves Cornerstone. Outside of work Kait serves at her local church, enjoys CrossFit, explores the great outdoors with her border collie puppy (Harvest), and goes on impromptu road trips with her friends.
Elizabeth Vanvleet » Property Manager
Liz, while born in Indiana, has spent most of her time in Colorado. She joined Cornerstone Real Estate Team in September of 2022. Liz has a passion for helping others and improving processes which make her an excellent problem solver. Her degree in Sociology and background in property management bring a unique perspective to our team. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the violin and reading when she is not chasing after her four beautiful children.
Tina Renshaw » Property Manager
Associate Broker Tina Joined Cornerstone Real Estate Team in Dec of 2023. She has 24 years of experience in Property Management in Single-family, Multi-Family, commercial, and storage complexes. She is also a licensed Real Estate agent with over $10 million sold in the Colorado Market. She has done real estate and property management in both Oregon and Colorado. She enjoys fishing, farming, and gardening.
Megan Romero » Administrative Assistant
Megan has been an excellent addition to the Cornerstone family since October of ‘23. She was born in Texas but has considered herself a Coloradan since 1999. Megan is the first friendly face you will see if you visit our office here at Cornerstone. She looks for opportunities to assist the people around her and goes above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. She enjoys exploring the mountains, cooking, and spending time with family in her spare time. Megan aspires to expand her family and establish roots in Colorado. Megan is currently working towards getting her Psychology degree with a specialization in Social and Criminal Psychology.
John O » Maintenance Coordinator
John is the Maintenance Coordinator for Cornerstone Real Estate Team. He retired from the U.S. Army in 2023, after a 22-year career as an Infantry Non-commissioned officer. John’s unique natural ability to develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules, manage repair projects, and ensure the efficient operation of properties has been critical to achieving organizational success. John has been in the Colorado Springs area for five years and enjoys camping, hiking, and snowboarding.
